Creating a more joyful mid life

Privacy policy

Last updated: 27 July 2026

Messy Mid ("we", "us") is a sole trader business based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and what your rights are. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect and why

When you join our early list, we collect your email address. We use it to send you occasional updates about Messy Mid, typically one or two emails a month, and to offer you early access when we launch. That's it. We don't sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone except the service providers below who help us run the list.

Our lawful basis for this under UK GDPR is your consent, which you give by submitting the signup form. You can withdraw it at any time by clicking unsubscribe in any email or by contacting us directly.

Who processes your data

These providers act under contracts that restrict how they can use your data. Where they store or process data outside the UK, those transfers are covered by recognised safeguards such as the UK's international data transfer agreement, the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or standard contractual clauses.

Cookies and advertising

This site uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) that helps us understand whether our ads are working, for example whether someone who clicked an ad went on to join the list. The pixel sets cookies and shares limited browsing data with Meta. You can learn how Meta uses this data in Meta's privacy policy, and manage your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.

You can also block cookies entirely through your browser settings; the site works fine without them.

How long we keep your data

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we close the list. Unsubscribing removes you from all future emails immediately.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email us at sarah@messymid.com. We'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.

Children

This site and our emails are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and, for anything significant, tell you by email before it takes effect.
